Telling stories is one of the most powerful means that we all have to influence, teach and inspire. Storytelling forges connections among people, and between people and ideas. Stories convey the culture, history, and values that unite people. When it comes to our countries, our communities, and our families, we understand intuitively that the stories we hold in common are an important part of the ties that bind.
What’s more, good stories do more than create a sense of connection. They build familiarity and trust, and allow the listener to enter the story where they are. Good stories can contain multiple meanings and are way more engaging than other ways of communication.
In that sense, Emilio Vidal, also known as Milos Funky, is a successful storyteller, businessman and audiovisual producer who runs “Contenidos de America”, a digital content production company that integrates creative knowledge, art and engineering with business skills. Emilio and his team support producers and content creators with scripts and ideas according to their commercial or entertainment objectives.
In Contenidos de America, their main mission is to tell stories on and off the screen. They also recreate entertainment content that generates social and cultural values.
“Nowadays, content is produced with greater ease and scope than ever. Producers can responsibly add inspiration for the new generations or irresponsibly subtract values from society, for this reason I think it’s really important for Latino producers to rescue the culture, the traditions, the values and the love for our countries. Youth is fed every day with content full of violence and the world requires the construction of societies full of love, happiness, peace and harmony!”, Emilio shares.
He is a successful producer of audiovisual content for different channels and digital platforms, who have been telling stories that surprise, entertain and impact for more than two decades. In fact, Emilio has collaborated with television, radio and film productions in Latin America. He also has been an image announcer for radio stations in Mexico, Venezuela and Argentina.
“Back in 1997 I created my first advertising and content agency called Energy in Coatzacoalcos, we were next to the business of Salma Hayek’s father, Don Sami, with whom we shared the experience and encouraged us to work hard with the agency, by knowing Salma Hayek. Then, 7 years later Toxica Films emerged in Cancun! Today, and due to the number of projects we do for Latin America, we change the name of the company to Contenidos de América in Mexico City. This was just the beginning of conversations with television channels and radio stations to develop their production and join interesting projects in Latin America, such as MTV, Televisa, Tv Azteca, Discovery Channel, Mexico travel Channel and many others!”, Emilio adds.
Contenidos de America provides a wide range of services, including audiovisual production, content writing, storytelling, mobile application development, marketing strategies, development plans and much more! To date, they have made more than 2,700 productions and represent a leading production company in Latin America.
“My main competition is myself. I always try to do my job better and I’m always improving. For me, the greatest success is when you are happy doing what you like, when you fall in love with your profession and when you’re able to help people along the way”, Emilio details.
In addition, he is currently presenting his book “Tzetzer: The antidote to existential chaos”, a self-help novel that narrates the experience of a passenger on a commercial flight who takes a man as a traveling companion who changes her life forever.
“With this book come diverse conferences and a series called Hidden Connections, based on the UFO phenomenon”, he explains.
Without a doubt, 2023 is going to be a year full of goals and work for Emilio, who is also working on developing entertainment content, full of values and traditions that lead to a more conscious society but above all, happier and more proud of its roots!
